Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (PT)
Event Name: GRI EVP Clinic
Event Date: Saturday June 27, 2009
Event Time: 10:00 am
166 Placerville Dr, Placerville, California
This will be a 2 hour EVP training session at the Raleys meeting center in Placerville. Jon will be conducting the training session. Up to ten people can attend. This training will involve the use of actual EVP audio footage to train field investigators on how to recognize, extract and store EVP audio for future use.
There is room for twelve people to attend.
The first half-hour will be a PowerPoint presentation of EVP and how it
works along with a group discussion about the realities and
difficulties of EVP work.
The rest of the session will be installation of the Audacity software
(if needed) and then practice EVP extracts by each team member with Jon
and any other experienced EVP researchers attending helping to
interpret what you may be hearing.
Once the session is complete, you will be certified by GRI as competent to record, download, extract and archive EVP evidence.
We'll encourage you to bring laptops (fully charged), smiles and your
own EVPs to share. A set of headphones (preferably cupped headphones or
whatever you can find!) are mandatory for this work.
We'll also provide copies of the Audacity software and the LAME dll
library which will let you create MP3 extracts from your library
evidence and to build the foundations of a true EVP archive you can
reference again and again. There is no cost for the Audacity software.
You will also be given a copy of the presentation which we will be
giving.
Note that we are uncertain as to the Raley's facilities, so we'll play
a lot of this by ear. We're not expecting a projector to be handy, but
if available, we'll certainly use it!
GRI
is based out of the Shingle Springs area in Northern California. We are
a scientific research and field investigative team conducting monthly
expeditions to check out haunted locations around Northern California.
We use a wide-range of technologies to investigate cases and follow a
TAPS-Style skepticism of paranormal claims while investigating private
sites. Ours is not dedicated to "show" or "stand-out" claims. We are a
quiet team with primary interest in the science.
Explaining purported "ghosts" via the use of our equipment and experience and debunking claims of the paranormal is our forte'.
For clients who need help and a team to assist them, we do NOT charge
for helping. We also do not charge for people to go on hunts. We choose
sites that do not require this (save for the occasional site that we
have to pay to get into!).
